Project Coordinator
Greater Toronto Airports Authority

Reporting to the Associate Director, Capital Restoration projects this position is responsible for the development, coordination and delivery of tenant and partner projects in support of customer and guest experience from the initiation phase through to the commissioning, occupancy and acceptance phase. Projects include renovations and new construction of various tenant projects in GTAA owned facilities such as air terminals, parking structures, office buildings, hangers, and cargo and transit stations. The incumbent will also be required to act as a Junior Project Manager and Move Coordinator, where he/she will manage the Moving Contract and furniture procurement on behalf of the GTAA, and undertake small GTAA Capital projects.

Job Description
Key Accountabilities: 
  • Receiving and processing requests for new projects.
  • Responding to requests for services and assisting the clients in assessing project budget.
  • Delivery and scheduling; meeting with internal stakeholders, potential tenants, partners, Project Managers and other GTAA staff to define project requirements; seeking technical input from Engineering, Operations and other specialists to ensure that technical requirements are met and provide assistance and act as liaison with external consultants as required.
  • Assist tenants and partners on the use of standard documents and forms and locating drawings/data; develop and maintain the Tenant Project Information Package and guide tenants, consultants and contractors through various project approval processes within the GTAA including, but not limited to, Project Requirements Brief, FAP, space allocation, and the Terminal Work Permit process
  • Coordinate moves/adds/changes within the GTAA properties
  • Plan, coordinate and deliver small projects

Job Requirements
Qualifications: 
  • The successful incumbent must possess a Diploma in Architecture or Architectural Technology or a post-secondary degree in a related field or an acceptable combination of education, training, and/or experience
  • Experience in managing projects and knowledge of GTAA Project Delivery Process would be considered an asset
  • A minimum of (2) years’ experience in Project Management and managing construction related contracts of up to $500k
  • Canadian Gold Seal (CGS) certified preferred or the successful candidates will be required to apply, and work towards CGS PM Designation and/or PMI PMP within 12 months
  • Must be able to obtain and retain a Transportation Security Clearance and RAIC
  • The successful candidates will be required to obtain a “D/A” AVOP within 30 days of appointment to the position

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 
  • Knowledge of architectural principles and practices, construction activities, FAMS processes, and specifications, trends and developments in the use of material and construction techniques
  • Knowledge of airport operations, client base, operations of tenants, airlines, and travelers, contracting procedures within the GTAA, project approval processes, and procedures such as FAP and TCAT.
  • Knowledge of Microstation, Word, Excel, PWise, iShare and project scheduling software are also required.
  • Must possess strong problem solving skills and demonstrate effective interpersonal skills, customer.
