PAL Aerospace is accepting applications for a motivated, energetic and career-minded Safety Management System (SMS)/Quality Manager to join our team in St. John’s, NL. Duties and Responsibilities: Manage the SMS Program as per the approved SMS Manual Ensure all identified safety issues are classified for hazard and risk Assist in the determination of root cause(s) of all hazards, incidents and accidents identified through the SMS program Review and verify all safety reports for closure Chair and participate in SMS meetings Collaborate with the SMS Core team to assess changes to the SMS program and provide input from a regulatory standpoint Assist in the development of safety objectives and goals Promote safety through the SMS Program Participate in accident and incident investigations as part of the SMS Core Team Utilize collected data in SMS Pro to monitor safety trends for use in the risk management process Make recommendations for improvements within the SMS Provide management support to various quality managements systems Chair quality meetings and working groups Implement and Maintain ISO 9001 - AS-9100 system Responsible for process audits, both internal and external quality audits as well as any required corrective action plans; amend customer documentation as required Other duties as assigned Qualifications: 3-5 years’ aviation experience in an operational or safety role Regulatory experience in aviation/aerospace would be considered an asset Experience using and managing SMS Programs At least four (4) years managing ISO 9001 –AS 9100 Quality systems Knowledge of Airworthiness requirements including Continuing Airworthiness At least three years’ experience in Quality Management in an aerospace environment Experience with risk management, hazard assessments, document control, etc. Experience conducting audits Excellent verbal and written communication skills Qualified individuals should send their resumes to the Human Resources Department referencing “SMS/Quality Manager ” Human Resources Department PAL Aerospace St. John’s International Airport, Hangar #1 St. John’s, NL Fax: 709-576-1802 Online: www.palaerospace.com PAL Aerospace is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
