SilverWings Awards Banquet 2017

The annual BC Aviation Council SilverWings Awards Gala at the Convention Centre was another huge success this year.  It is so gratifying to see so many Aviation Operations students awarded scholarships in recognition of their hard work. It's also gratifying to see students volunteer to handle the registration desk, coat check, Silent Auction, and more behind the scenes.  This is valuable experience - it provides a great opportunity to meet people and directly contributes to the success of the SiverWings Awards Gala.  Thank you to the volunteers!

The evening also represented the final BCAC event for long-time Administrator Donna Farquhar.  Donna has been with BCAC for 10 years, and leaves some vary big shoes to fill.  At the same time, Candace McKibbon will also be stepping down from her role as Executive Director.    

Industry Representatives recognized for their contribution to aviation in BC include:

• Masset Regional Airport, with Manager Kal Manna (graduate Airport Operations)  and 
• Cathy Press of Chinook Helicopters (and the Airline and Flight Operations Rotary Wing partner) who won the Back and Bevington Air Safety Trophy!
