Reporting to the Associate Director, Strategic Passenger Influence, this position is responsible for implementing strategies to support Toronto Pearson’s growth to achieve Mega Hub status, by: strategically developing North American catchment opportunities; developing and executing measurable initiatives to positively influence passenger choice and experience; working collaboratively with various stakeholders: strategic carriers, partner airports and industry organizations.
Job Description Key Accountabilities:
- Create, implement and measure targeted market development initiatives aligned to GTAA’s Mega Hub Strategy and intended to positively influence passenger choice and experience of Toronto Pearson’s North American catchment; interpret results and adjust to improve desired performance
- Prepare and present summaries for internal and external audiences, to show return and results of targeted market development initiatives
- Drive and execute initiatives with local, provincial and national tourism organizations to advance Toronto Pearson’s goals through mutually beneficial initiatives focused on catchment and passenger choice
- Create, and present, compelling business cases for various North American route development initiatives
- Gain understanding of stakeholder needs throughout North America, use insights to support team efforts
- Transition new airline entrants to wider Toronto Pearson team for operational and communication integration; work collaboratively with partner airports to support new service introductions and engage with end-market stakeholders
- Stay abreast of market trends such as airline mergers, traveler trends and preferences, disruptions and evolution of online travel giants, and major social changes
- Work closely and collaboratively within the Global Hub Development Team, Strategy Department, and across the full GTAA organization; solidly contribute to team goals and objectives, share unique perspectives, proactively evaluate opportunities and challenge assumptions
- Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements Qualifications:
- Post-Secondary degree in Marketing, Business, Economics, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; Post-Graduate degree is a benefit
- 3-5 years experience in business development, marketing, communications or strategy
- Thrive both in collaborative team environments and working independently
- Demonstrated ability and drive to produce high-impact results
- Must be able to obtain and retain a Transportation Security Clearance and a Valid Passport
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- High-energy, resourceful, self-motivated and entrepreneurial spirit
- Ability to draw insights and implement change from performance results and outcomes
- Strong communicator, ability to build collaborative relationships, solid team player
- Comfortable delivering presentations
- Proficient skills in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically excel, word and power point
- Strong project and time management skills, highly organized
