The incumbent will be accountable for increasing sales in the designated territory - Vancouver and cover half of of British Columbia , establishing strong relationships with agency contacts and reporting market intelligence and competition analysis to management. The incumbent will be expected to keep updated on the full range of product from all gateways servicing clients and to participate in promotional activities including consumer and industry events.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Accountable for achieving passenger and revenue targets within established guidelines and executing effective territory management
- Develop, in conjunction with the G.M. Sales, the commercial business plan for his/her territory
- Identify, search and solicit new business opportunities/new agencies in order to enlarge the Air Canada Vacations distribution channels
- Provide travel agencies with up-to-date product information on Air Canada Vacations, customer service and training.
- Complete daily sales calls in regional territory, providing account and market feedback.
- Responsible for analyzing monthly sales reports with travel partners, collaborating and creating revenue generating sales and marketing initiatives
- Communicate information such as promotions, upcoming sales and product lines that Air Canada Vacations is offering to all key accounts
- Provide market intelligence on a regular basis to ensure market competitiveness and collaborate with National Sales team
- Responsible for in-house product training including Groups product offering
- Attend Consumer shows and Travel industry events, ensuring outstanding public relations
- Responsible in assisting retails partners with problem files and any issues and ensure ongoing communications
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
- College diploma in tourism
- 3 or 4 years travel industry experience
- Solid experience of territory and market
- Demonstrated ability to establish new accounts and service current accounts
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Highly motivated and able to work with little or no supervision
- Strong organizational skills and time management skills
- Strong communication and public speaking skills
- Ability to deliver high impact presentations to agencies, consumers and corporate accounts
- Working knowledge of Word, Excel, Power Point
- Based in Vancouver
- Flexible to work evenings, as required
- Driver’s license required
