Aviation Scholarship!

The Ninety-Nines has a robust aviation scholarship program.  Many of our scholarship opportunities will be interest to students enrolled in the Aviation Operations programs

The Ninety-Nines are accepting applications for the $3,000 Karen Johnson Solo Scholarship to provide a young woman (age 16-20 at any time during the 2018 calendar year) with financial support for flight training through her first solo and beyond. The scholarship will be awarded at the Aviation Appreciation Dinner at EAA AirVenture in Oshkosh on July 24, 2018, www.99soshkoshdinner.com.
Applications must be received by July 1, 2018.   Proof of financial need and financial information is not required.  Additional information about how to apply for the scholarship and a scholarship flyer can be found at www.kjsoloscholarship.com. We get applications for this scholarship from many rising college freshmen who are enrolling in college aviation programs and just starting their flight training.

99s Amelia Earhart Memorial Scholarship Fund Scholarships.
The Ninety-Nines Amelia Earhart Memorial Scholarship Fund (AEMSF) is a trust fund of over $5.5 million that provides significant scholarship aid to women pilots and student pilots.  The AEMSF has awarded over 850 scholarships providing over $11 million in scholarship aid, helping hundreds of women achieve their aviation dreams.

Entering students may be particularly interested in applying for AEMSF Fly-Now Awards of up to $6,000 toward an initial pilot rating for women who are learning to fly.  Since October 2014 AEMSF awarded over $450,000 in semiannual Fly Now Awards to 123 recipients.

Applicants will need to join the 99s as a student member by August 15, 2018 and submit their application for the Fall Fly Now Awards by September 15, 2018.  The applications for Fly Now Awards are available at www.99sScholarships.com

In addition to the Fly Now Scholarships, the AEMSF also offers scholarships to complete an additional pilot certificate or rating or pilot training course, including instrument, multi-engine, commercial, ATP, flight instructor, emergency maneuver training and all kinds of type ratings, including jet type ratings.  What is unique about these scholarships is that they cover the full cost of the training.  Most of the scholarships in this group require prior membership in the 99s.  The Fund also offers scholarships for college students majoring in aviation-related fields.

Additional information about scholarships offered by the AEMSF can be found at www.99sScholarships.com.
