Career Up-date from Christian Bobadilla

Christian Bobadilla writes:

As you may know, after graduation I moved back home to Mexico to pursue my flying career. It all started fine, but unfortunately, Mexico right now is really dangerous. I lived in Torreon, which is in northern Mexico; about a 4 hour drive from Texas. All the drug wars are going on there now and there are shootings almost everyday. I could actually hear the gunshots somedays from my house.. kinda scary. My dad got a job promotion so he and my mom moved to Dominican Republic. I decided I didn't want to live in Mexico on my own, so I moved back to Canada.

I got a job with Central Mountain Air! So now I'm doing the Tier 2 Pilot Program. I started one month ago and live in Smithers working as a Flight Dispatcher!  I am currently #10 on the list with an estimated 2 years to get in the right seat.

BCIT's program has been so useful to me. I really think everything I learned in those 18 months have helped me get this job and have given me a better understanding of not only Flight Operations, but the aviation industry itself. My preparation for the CMA interview was basically taking everything I learned in BCIT and along with PFC's excellent groundschools - I answered most of the flying questions correctly. A lot of what I learned has been useful to me working Dispatch at CMA and will be when I become a FO as well.
Regards,
Christian Bobadilla - Dispatch
