The warehouse manager will be responsible for the efficient receipt, storage and distribution of goods in a Transport Canada certified distribution environment. The successful candidate will be an experienced people manager who understands how to improve quality of service while increasing the efficiency of the team.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily warehouse activities including: Filling and shipping customer orders, ensuring accuracy of shipments and supporting documentation, receiving and routing incoming inventory, ensuring inventory transactions are accurately logged and overseeing cycle counts and reconciliation activities.
  • Complete operational objectives by scheduling and assigning employees and monitoring work results.
  • Achieve warehouse team results utilizing effective management skills and strategies.
  • Interpret company policies and ensure employees are in compliance.
  • Measure and report the effectiveness of the department activities.
  • Comply with warehousing, material handling, and shipping requirements by studying existing and new legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
  • Safeguard warehouse operations and contents by monitoring security procedures and protocols.
  • Control inventory levels by conducting physical counts; reconciling with ERP system, and planning for future capacity requirements.
  • Maintain physical condition of warehouse by planning and implementing effective design layouts.
  • Maintain maintenance program for warehouse tools and equipment.
  • Contribute to the achievement of branch financial objectives by monitoring expenditure, analyzing variances and implementing corrective action.
  • Liaise with customers, suppliers, and transport companies to maintain an effective level of customer service.
  • Coordinate the effective use of the ERP system within the warehouse.
  • Develop and maintain departmental work instructions for all tasks.
Skills and Experience:
  • Post-secondary education in inventory and logistics management and five or more years of relevant warehouse experience including three years of supervisory experience.
  • Ability to read and understand documents pertaining to regulations, safety requirements, and procedures.
  • Ability to make calculations such as discounts, freight estimates, dimensional weight, invoices, and percentages.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems and their applicability within a distribution environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
