Air North is currently seeking an Operational and Safety Assurance Manager (OSAM). Aircraft Types:Hawker Siddeley 748 & Boeing 737 (200, 400 & 500)

Job Description:
The OSAM is a member of the Safety department and reports to the Safety Manager and the Accountable Executive. This position is tasked with maintaining Air North’s SMS Quality Assurance program and Air North’s Flight and Ground Operations Quality Assurance Program.

Duties include, but are not limited to:
•Conducting monthly audits of Air North’s SMS (the SMS Assurance program), reporting and following up on audit findings; maintaining historical files/data etc.
•Conducting annual audits of the Flight and Ground Operations at Air North
•Creating check sheets, policy and procedures for all audit programs
•Conducting and/or Coordinating internal and external audits as required
•Identifying relevant laws, regulations and standards
•Ensuring compliance with such laws, regulations and standards (with audit activities)
•Designing corrective action plans for findings (in collaboration with relevant managers)
•Maintaining audit records within Air North’s audit and document control software, Q-Pulse
•Analyzing safety data
•Developing safety awareness tools
•Coordinating, testing and revising Emergency Response Plan activities when required
•Other related duties as assigned

Qualifications/Conditions of Employment:
•Demonstrated ability to perform auditing functions (experience and training in auditing)
•Previous aviation operational experience or Safety Management System experience in an aviation environment an asset
•Self starter; Ability to work independently and with a team
•Excellent interpersonal skills; able to be diplomatic and tactful at all times
•Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite software; excellent computer skills
•Excellent organizational and time management skills
•Excellent communication skills – oral and written
•Ability to obtain a Transport Canada Restricted Area pass
•Valid Drivers License
