SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Include, but not limited to, the following minimum skills and qualifications:
• Must possess a 3 year post secondary education in Safety Management or suitable discipline or have an equivalent level of experience in Safety Management.
• Minimum of 2 years of previous related experience.
• An excellent ability to adapt to and understand various departmental processes and needs.
• Excellent organizational, statistical analysis, problem-solving, and decision making skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communications skills for internal and external customers and contacts.
• Ability to speak Inuktitut/English, French/English an asset.
• Proven proficiency with Word, Excel and Access.
• An ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• A willingness to travel throughout the First Air network.
• A willingness to pursue a Safety Management or a Quality Management designation.
• Quality Management and auditing experience considered an asset.
• Ability to obtain and retain a Restricted Area Identity Card in accordance with the Airport Restricted Area Access Clearance Program regulated by Transport Canada.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Interested candidates should be able to perform the following duties and responsibilities:
• Provide ongoing support for the Safety Management Database by:
o Creating and maintaining user profiles;
o Building customs forms (reports) for data capturing and reporting purposes;
o Establishing or amending work-flows to support our SMS processes;
o Updating data fields/categories to satisfy our data capturing/analysis needs;
o Delivering training to end users; and
o Test problem scenarios, research and recommend improvement options.
• Prepare a quarterly safety risk profile by conducting analysis of safety and quality data.
• Prepare and distribute bi-weekly, monthly, and quarterly safety reports.
• Input safety information into the Safety Management Database.
• Support activities associated with the corporate quality assurance program, such as: coordinating and conducting quality audits, preparing audit checklists, collecting sample data on SMS processes, and monitoring process performance with the use of control charts.
• Other duties as assigned.
