Manager, Operations Control provides overall leadership, oversight and direction for all aspects of the operation on a day of basis. Manage both commercial and operationally strategic/tactical requirements. The Manager, Operations Control will be providing all support and be the single point of contact for all operationally related matters. Core responsibilities include the following:
Major Responsibilities:
- Manage the corporate flight schedule on a dynamic basis.
- Manage all Flight Schedule recovery initiatives as a result of mechanical, weather, ATC, airport infrastructure or internal/external influences.
- Responsible for developing all flight schedule recovery plans, communication and coordinating with all support departments, actioning all irregular operations responses.
- Responsible for initial response for any security or emergency response.
- Collection and recording of all pertinent information for airline reports.
- Prepare and disseminate daily operational review.
- Participate in all conference calls and any and all adhoc operational conference calls.
- Manage all ground delay programs.
- Orchestrate major irrops recovery including diversion management, surface transportation coordination, alert messages, interface with Air Canada System Operations Control Center.
- Oversight of contracted suppliers such as crew scheduling to ensure responses and costs are managed effectively, on a day of operation.
- Challenge operational negative impact influences in real time to initiate improvement and corrective action.
- Administrative and other duties as assigned to support the airline.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Excellent computer skills; MSOffice (Excel, Power Point, Word, Access and Outlook).
- Ability to work in a team environment, as well as independently.
Education/Work Experience
- Previous experience in an Airline Operations role.
- A related post secondary education or community college diploma in Operations Management or a related mix of education and experience.
