The ATCO Group operates two jet aircraft – a Citation Encore+ and a Citation X. The Aviation Department has an employment opportunity for the following Calgary, Alberta based position:
MANAGER, AVIATION OPERATIONS

Reporting to the Vice President, Administrative Services, you will have overall responsibility for the efficient operation of all Company flight operations ensuring the highest level of safety and professionalism. You will have strong leadership qualities evidencing good communication skills with the ability to foster a positive work environment.

Specific Responsibilities include:
•The management of aviation operations in compliance with company policies and procedures and all national and international safety and operational standards and regulations.
•Develop and maintain flight department operations and safety manuals ensuring that all operations are conducted in accordance with the general and specific policies and instructions contained in the Flight Operations Manual.
•Ensure that each aircraft is maintained to the standard specified by the manufacturer and Department of Transportation, comply with all manufacturers Safety Bulletins and MOT Airworthiness Directives etc., and ensure that the aircraft are maintained in a clean and tidy condition at all times.
•Ensure aircraft maintenance records are in compliance with applicable regulations, and with internal/external audits.
•Staffing requirements including hiring, scheduling, performance management and oversight of safety and training programs.
•Ensure all flight crew are familiar with the regulations and procedures pertinent to the performance of their duties prescribed for the area to be traversed, the aerodromes to be used and the air navigation facilities relating thereto.
•Ensure an emergency response plan is in place and maintained to address any aircraft related emergency or accident.
•Liaise directly with industry and federal regulatory authorities on all matters concerning flight operations.
•Develop annual budgets, monthly forecasts and ongoing stewardship of expenses authorizing the payment of routine costs incurred for the aircraft operations.
•Source suppliers and negotiate agreements.
•Coordinate with the Corporate Aircraft Administrator to ensure the efficient utilization of the aircraft.
•Maintain hangar, office, shop and passenger facilities suitable to the operation. 

Qualifications:
•20 years progressive aviation experience preferred with 5-10 years as an Aviation Manager/Supervisor or equivalent leadership position.
•Holds valid Transport Canada Airline Transport Pilots training and License requirements.
•A type rating and licensing for a minimum of one type of aircraft operated by the ATCO Group would be an asset.
•Extensive knowledge of applicable aviation standards and federal/international regulations.
•Exceptional leadership, organizational, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
•Conscientious self-starter who enjoys working in a team environment, needs minimum supervision, and is able to cope effectively and prioritize workload under pressure.
•Strong work ethic.
•Displays sound judgment, tact and diplomacy in difficult situations.
