What's your Big Idea?

BCIT is rewarding and valuing great ideas but now we have extra focus and resources for a great business idea. The goal is to identify and nurture at least one commercially viable business.  The competition involves students from all programs, schools and campuses across the Institute!

The student’s idea needs to fit the following criteria:
· Create new products/services or businesses
· Enhance productivity, quality, and performance in your industry
· Build social enterprises

Prizes
Student Innovation Challenge Winner:
· The winner of this competition will be the idea deemed most likely to succeed as a business venture in the current market.
· $1500 CASH

2nd Runner Up:
· The winner of this award will be the second best idea deemed most likely to succeed as a business venture in the current market.
· $1000 CASH

Great Student Project/Applied Research Project:
· BCIT students deliver great projects every year from their classes. If you think you have an innovative project on the go, submit it for your chance to win the applied research prize. We are looking for BCIT’s top students delivering industry solutions.
· $500 CASH

Great Business Plan:
· The best Business Plan submitted to the Challenge will win this award.
· $500 CASH

Key Info:
· Deadline for submission to the Innovation Challenge is February 17, 2013
· An additional $8,500 in support is available to ideas deemed likely to succeed as a business venture in the current market.
· Students are encouraged to build a cross school team for higher chances of success
· Open to part and full time students
