Ramp Attendant, Fort McMurray

The Ramp Attendent - Summer Student position is a four month work term from May - September with 40 hour work weeks. Priority of the position will be given to a student who has interest in the Aviation feild.

Basic FunctionThe basic function of the Ramp Attendant - Summer Student is to: receive freight and keep it in an organized manor, help load and off load the planes, assist in marshalling and towing planes. 


QualificationsIn order to qualify for this position the applicant must meet the following criteria: - Must be enrolled in a post secondary/university education in the fall- Be over the age of 18- Have a valid class 5 drivers license- Must know the basics of Microsoft Office- Preference to students with a background or interest in Aviation- Must be able to lift 50Ibs

Programs UsedApplicant will be using/taught how to use the following programs:
  • Skyline: A remote server based program used for our Fort Chipewyan scheduled flights. This program is used to book seats, receive freight and print way bills, and manifest our passengers.
  • GFO: Used to dispatch, and schedule aircraft for pilot purposes. (ex. Flight training, chartered flights, etc.)
  • Extensive Training
  • Applicant will be trained on the following equipment and must pass a test to McMurray Aviations standards.
  • Fork Lift
  • Tug
  • Weed Whacker/Push Mower
Work EnvironmentMcMurray Aviation is a very fast paced industry. Applicant must be able to adapt to sudden changes, make fast decisions, and remain calm and pleasant. Most of the time your shift will take place in a outdoor environment. Applicant will spend time in the hanger and out on air side.
