The Assistant Librarian is responsible to assist the Librarians in effectively controlling and maintaining all on-board, on-site, full-time & seasonal libraries.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Update and maintain all crew rooms, OCC, on-board, ERDL, main-base and sub-base libraries with current and accurate operational and technical publications.
• Prepare, collate, review and distribute all incoming / outgoing publications and the amendments to applicable manual holders.
• Work directly with the flight crew to provide publications as required.
• Receive amendments and update the library catalogue / database.
• Build and track revision transmittals issued to out-stations and manual holders.
• Assist in the preparation of documentation to prepare aircraft for deployment, imports and exports.
• Review and incorporate updates to Jeppesen and AeroData performance publications accurately and in a timely manner.
• Prepare on-board and trip kits libraries and carry out physical updates / audits on aircraft parked at various locations on the ramp and in the hangar.
• Print, collate and distribute revisions to manuals and other documentation to designated manual holders and library users.
• Conduct Off season detailed review of documents, publications & manuals to confirm all inventory is current, accurate & complete.
• Filing, general office work and processing e-mail requests and queries from operating crews and crews on training.
• Assist with shipping, handling, mail pick up of large print orders and shipments to affect updates in a timely manner.
REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:
• Attention to detail, with ability to manage time between multi disciplinary projects
• Ability to work with computers and electronic databases.
• Ability to analyse data and draw conclusions with respect to effectivity and applicability of technical documentation.
• Ability to be accountable for the assigned responsibilities.
• Ability to be independent and objective in performing the assigned tasks.
• Ability to build trust and confidence in others to gain safety and regulatory compliance.
• Ability to work in a team, assisting each other, to perform assigned duties.
• A College diploma or higher, related to aviation or equivalent experience.
• Must be organized and detail-oriented
• Previous library / administrative experience in a similar role are preferred.
• Proficient in Excel and Word.
• A valid Ontario G Driver's License with a clean drivers abstract
• Ability to work split / irregular hour shift to update on-board libraries depending on varying flight schedule.
• Ability to travel to Canadian and overseas bases on short notice to review/audit libraries.
• Ability to climb stairs lifting heavy (15-30lbs) boxes/containers containing publications.
• Ability to concentrate and retain attention for long hours while updating Jeppesen data.
• Eligibility to obtain GTAA Restricted Area Identification Card (RAIC) and Airside Vehicle Operator's Permit (AVOP)
