Job Description Reporting to the Manager, Communications, the Writer is accountable for the written communication produced on behalf of Corporate Communications. This person is a strategic-minded, action-oriented individual with at least 1-3 three years experience in communications. The position requires producing clear and concise written content that is consistent with overall communications strategy, researching information from various company and public sources that supports specific written key messages, and applying basic communication planning and counsel to the Manager, Communications.

Qualifications POSITION SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES: 
  • Write and edit content tailored to specific communication objectives or audience needs, set a standard of high quality in both meeting the best practices in public relations writing and delivering original, compelling content to audiences, modify content to fit different media, and ensure content is consistent with EIA style guides.
  • Research on specific topics through company documents and material, library and Internet research, and interviews, select and organize the most useful information to support communication objectives, and use the written word to best express ideas and convey information to audiences.
  • Assist the Manager, Communications in identifying and developing on-brand messaging tailored to audience needs, defining communication goals and objectives, and assessing message impact through various research methodologies.
  • Work with Corporate Communications project teams to integrate written tactics with overall project objectives, and assist the project team in coordinating various tasks required to achieve project objectives
POSITION REQUIREMENTS: 
  • A post-secondary degree in communications, journalism, business/marketing, public relations
  • An understanding of business and marketing processes
  • Demonstrated experience with MSOffice (including Work and Outlook), the Internet (Google and Explorer) and Social Media (including Twitter, Facebook and Instagram)
  • Knowledge of strategic communications planning and integrated marketing communications
  • Demonstrated ability to work with initiative, motivation and minimal management are required
  • Successful candidate must have the ability to obtain and maintain airport security clearance

SALARY: $24.17 – $26.80 per hour (37.5 hours per week)
