The Red Deer Airport Authority (RDAA) is looking for a
Full Time Airport Equipment Operator.
This
position reports to the Airport Operations Manager and requires shift work,
including evenings, weekends and overtime when required.
Candidates
called for an interview will be asked to bring a copy of any required
certifications including a current Drivers Abstract and a RCMP Criminal Records
Check.
The Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following duties:

Operate equipment
used to maintain airport surfaces including runways, taxiways, aprons and
roadways. This includes snow removal,
ice control and grounds maintenance to ensure effective operation of the Red
Deer Airport.
· Perform bird and wildlife control.
· Inspect and evaluate runways, taxiways and apron surface conditions.
· Repair fences, gates and airport signage.
· Perform maintenance and repairs on airfield surfaces and facilities.
· Adhere to safe working procedures and airport policies and procedures.

Requirements
·
Legally
able to work in Canada.
· Grade 12 graduate Diploma, or equivalent.
· Ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written English.
· Valid Class 3 driver’s license with air brake endorsement.
· Work rotating shift schedule and be on call.
· Ability to obtain and maintain Transport Canada Security Clearance and RDAA Airside Vehicle Operators Permit (AVOP).
· Ability to obtain Firearms Acquisition Certificate.
· Grade 12 graduate Diploma, or equivalent.
· Ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written English.
· Valid Class 3 driver’s license with air brake endorsement.

maintenance methods and procedures such as snow and ice control.

Proficiency in the operation and maintenance of
heavy equipment.
·
Within 1 month from his/her start date the
incumbent must obtain a restricted radio operator’s license and an airside
vehicle operator’s permit.
