Managing Director, North Peace Regional Airport - Role Overview and Responsibilities
The North Peace Regional Airport Managing Director is responsible for managing and operating the airport, which includes the terminal, groundside and airside. This senior role is responsible for:
Identifying business development opportunities and implementing strategies that increase revenue, passenger traffic and customer satisfaction
Representing the airport in the community to enhance its profile and reputation as an economic driver for the area
Working closely with Vantage network colleagues who have expertise in air service marketing, capital project management, human resources and communications to optimize the development of the airport
Consistently achieving safety standards, regulatory compliance and strong relationships with stakeholders
Providing leadership for airport staff by creating and implementing a vision and strategic objectives
This position is based in Fort St. John, BC and requires the ability to travel.
Experience and Background
Minimum 8 years’ experience in an operations management role, preferably in an aviation or airport setting
Experience working effectively in a regulated environment
Proven experience with long-term planning, meeting and exceeding targets and setting and achieving high safety standards
Track record of successfully managing and motivating teams
Ability to lead labour relations and collective bargaining
A university degree in Business Administration, Economics, or Commercial Aviation is a strong asset
Abilities and Qualities
Strategic, results-oriented professional with a commercially-minded approach and strong business acumen
Able to work with multiple stakeholders and deal with competing priorities with integrity, professionalism and creativity
Able to lead and motivate teams through clear communication of strategy, while remaining committed to a
collaborative work environment
Respected and known within the aviation, airport or economic development arenas
