POSITION SUMMARY:
The Senior GIS-CADD Technologist is accountable for managing, creating and maintaining documents critical to airport infrastructure. This includes producing updated building and site records, assuring record documents are received and are to Edmonton Airports’ standards and then utilizing the documentation to provide information to end users in a variety of formats so they can achieve their business goals. The position has strong cross–functional relationships with all Edmonton Airports SBU’s.
POSITION SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITES:
Operate and maintain Technical Services’ geographic information system (GIS). This includes improving data and systems, making recommendations for development and acting as a technical liaison between various Edmonton Airports’ departments and external consultants.
Administer the Facility Alteration Permit process, ensuring the proper documents have been received, reviewed and distributed in a timely manner in accordance with established procedures.
Update key department records using various forms of technology following documented procedures on an established schedule and making them available to external and internal customers.
Provide information to internal and external customers’ that is appropriate in format and context, containing enough information that will allow the end user to meet their business requirements. Qualifications
POSITION SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS:
Either a post secondary diploma in construction with the GIS equivalent or a GIS diploma with Construction experience equivalencies
Understanding of standard construction practices, building code, municipal development codes and application processes.
Capability to utilize CADD and document management software at a power user level, developing templates and user configurations.
The ability to read and apply regulatory documents in order to provide a practical response or solution.
Must secure and maintain appropriate airport security clearance and acceptable criminal record check as conditions of employment
