The Corporate Services Division of Highways and Public Works provides critical central agency services to government and direct services to the department itself. We provide acquisition risk management, purchasing, asset management, printing, mail delivery, insurance, travel and fleet vehicle services to Yukon government departments. We also provide policy, communications, and finance services to the Department of Highways and Public Works. Our division employs analysts, procurement specialists, graphic designers, client service specialists, accountants and many other professionals.

The Travel Services Unit books all flights for Yukon government employees, as well as Yukon residents required to fly for medical travel. Hotel rooms, cars, and more are also booked for government employees. As a travel consultant your professional experience is relied upon to arrange the most appropriate travel and accommodations for travellers while adhering to Yukon Government’s travel directives and policies. The ideal candidate will enjoy working in a fast paced environment where accountability and accuracy are paramount.

Qualifications: 

Essential Qualifications 
Please submit your resume clearly demonstrating how you meet the following qualifications – specifically – how your work experiences and related duties align with the essential qualifications shown below. Ensure a month/year format is used for each work experience. Note that selection for further consideration will be based solely on the information you provide in your resume. 
  • Experience providing travel agent customer service in a fast paced environment;
  • Experience performing a wide range of accounting functions;
  • Experience using computer software as well as Apollo computerized travel reservation system.
Candidates who have education, training, and/or experience equivalent to the essential qualifications listed above will be equally considered. 

Desired Knowledge, Skills and Suitability 
Candidates should have and may be assessed on: 
  • Excellent organizational skills and adaptability to changing priorities;
  • Ability to provide exceptional customer service;
  • Ability to act tactfully and use diplomacy when dealing with confidential matters;
  • Effective communication skills;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to contribute to a team and maintain effective relationships;
  • Able to work with limited supervision as well as provide clerical and reception support in an office environment.
