GardaWorld Aviation Services is contacted by the Canadian Government to provide Screening services within Canada. GardaWorld Aviation Services currently provides services within the Central & Prairie region. Within the Prairie region, we provide services to 14 airports in Alberta, Manitoba, Saskatchewan and The Northwest Territories. Within our region, we employ approximately 1200 Screening Officers, management and administrative staff.

The Regional Operations Centre (R.O.C.) team assists with regional operations support, effectiveness and efficiency.  As an established company, we are looking for people wishing to take part in our growth by being part of a strong team.

Position Description

The GardaWorld Prairie Regional Operations Centre is seeking three (3) Operations Officers for a 6 month term contract. Reporting to the Manager, Infrastructure and Technologies, the Operations Officer develops reports, reconciles data, tracks incidents, monitors and reports on checkpoint efficiencies and answers phone calls.

Compensation: $19.23 per hour

Major Accountabilities / Responsibilities includes, but are not limited to the following:

* Manages the regional book-off line and make appropriate “real time” entries into our scheduling software (gSKED)
* Assists with the coordination of GardaWorld’s absenteeism programs at each airport within our region
* Electronically track, monitor and file incidents into our incident management software (Perspective by PPM 2000)
* Monitors and reports on an internal system, which is called BPSS and reports on checkpoint utilization, to assist in operational efficiency
* Monitors and reports on flight delays & cancellations to assist with operations
* Monitors and reports on potential weather concerns that may affect operations
* Generate reports pertaining to all the above

Hours of operation & shifts:

The R.O.C. operates 24 hours 7 days a week, year round. A successful candidate will have to be able to work 8 hour shifts within all hours of operation.

Background (Education/Licenses/Work Experience):

* Minimum of 3 years’ experience in operations, communications, administration, security or a related field
* Intermediate proficiency with MS Office Suite
* Perspective by PPM 2000 knowledge would be an asset

Skills & Proficiency:

* Demonstrated ability to plan, schedule and execute on assigned tasks
* Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize in a deadline oriented environment
* Multi-dimensional approach to tasks – must be detail oriented yet able to see the big picture when seeking solutions to processes and system related issues
* Ability to interact well with others at various levels within the organization
* Proficient with computer software programs as well as ability to work with data tables and data extraction

Personal Characteristics:

* Analytical, detail oriented and technically astute
* Self-motivated, with the ability to work both independently and in a team environment
* Easily adaptable to change and must embrace new challenges
* Professional demeanour with ability to develop cooperative working relationships in all areas of the business
* Ability to work any shift, including weekends
