Reporting to the Director, Strategy Development, this position is responsible for helping drive the development of the GTAA business strategy. In particular, the successful candidate will lead the implementation of the GTAA’s Corporate Sustainability strategy, including creation of the GTAA’s annual Corporate Responsibility report. The successful candidate is able to collaborate effectively with a wide variety of business partners across our business, be highly organized and possess excellent problem solving skills.
Job Description Key Accountabilities:
- Support the ongoing development of the overall Strategic Business Plan for the corporation as defined by the Board of Directors, Chief Executive Officer and the Executive Team
- By interacting with senior leaders across the GTAA, fully incorporate corporate sustainability in the GTAA’s strategic framework. This involves managing and integrating confidential business data that are inputs into the sustainability strategic framework
- Responsibility for the realization of the GTAA’s Annual Corporate Responsibility report supplement to the Annual Report by managing the collection, compilation, and review of the material presented in the report
- Support the development and implementation of the Strategic Business Plan
- In collaboration with the business and contribution units identify, analyze and assess new strategic opportunities and support the development of business cases and action plans
- Direct the creation of the GTAA’s Annual Corporate Responsibility report, with decision making ability regarding this report
- Mobilizing airport business partners and stakeholders to integrate sustainability concepts across the Toronto Pearson airport community
- Strategic business plan development and production
- Strategy business case creation and board paper development
- Managing assigned budget for Corporate Sustainability reporting
- Assisting Director, Strategy Development Strategic and corporate medium/long range target development setting
- Development of the GTAA’s annual Corporate Responsibility report in conformance with Global Reporting Index (GRI) sustainability reporting guidelines, Level G4. This includes conducting an annual materiality assessment
- Monitor, assess and report on developments in the external business environment that will impact the realization of the GTAA’s strategic plan
Job Requirements Qualifications:
- Post-graduate degree preferred with a specialization in one or more of the following fields: Business, Commerce, Economics, Engineering, Environment Science, Sustainability, Strategy or related fields
- Minimum 5 years of related work experience
- Previous work experience in strategic planning and strategy development.
- Previous work experience in corporate social responsibility or sustainability development an reporting
- Minimum 1 year experience in people management (direct or cross-functional)
- Industry sector experience or industry related experience (aviation, transportation, etc.) is an asset
- Demonstrated experience working in a fast-paced, customer-centric environment
- Must be able to obtain and retain a Transportation Security Clearance
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Demonstrated analytical mindset and problem solving skills
- Full proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (including Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Excellent, proven business report writing skills
- Excellent, proven communication skills
- Demonstrated project management skills
- Flexibility to quickly adapt to changing business situation needs
- Familiarity with the Global Reporting Index (GRI) sustainability reporting guidelines is a distinct asset
- Prior experience in strategic planning
- Prior management and people leader experience
- Prior experience with Corporate Social Responsibility and Sustainability best practices
