The Calgary Airport Authority is leading an exciting expansion program
at YYC worth over two billion dollars. With the recent opening of Canada’s
longest runway and the construction of a new international terminal, this is an
exciting time to be a part of the YYC Crew.
The Role
The Volunteer Development Coordinator will play an integral role in
enhancing the complete visitor experience at YYC. As a key member of the Western Hospitality
department they will assist with developing and implementing the overall
recruitment, training and retention strategy for the White Hat Volunteer
program. Additionally, they will focus on coaching and supporting over 400
White Hat volunteers working in the current terminal and through the expansion
into our new facilities.
As part of the retention strategy, this position will coordinate and
execute both small and large scale recognition events.
In addition, this position provides the public presence for Western
Hospitality office and oversees day to day activities in the absence of the
Western Hospitality Manager.
To ensure our volunteers are well supported, this position is a
rotating four days on, four days off shift including weekends.
Basic Requirements
Experience in volunteer program management, recruitment and developing
and delivering training programs
Exceptional customer service ability, excellent interpersonal, oral and
written communication
Strong organizational capacity and ability to focus on tasks with
multiple interruptions
Problem solving abilities and an
innate ability to think on your feet
The ability to create and present engaging presentations to large
audiences
Proficient in Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, Publisher, Illustrator
and Photoshop
Additional Requirements
Knowledge of and familiarity with the airport environment would be
considered an asset
