The Role

Reporting to the Manager, Western Hospitality, you will play an integral role in supporting the volunteer and visitor experience at YYC. You will be essential to the success of our Western Hospitality office which supports more than 400 White Hat Volunteers. Your portfolio will include:

Office administration: Manage confidential volunteer records, schedules, internal website and volunteer management system; design and prepare volunteer documents, letters, presentations, certificates, etc.; oversee inventory and maintenance for both the office and volunteer reception rooms.

Customer service and relationship development: Strong desire and ability to establish trust and rapport with volunteers and internal and external stakeholders; Ability to receive, respond and coordinate volunteer service requests via telephone, e-mail and in person.

Event management: Assist in planning and executing 10 – 15 volunteer events annually.

Basic Requirements

Proficient in Microsoft Office as well as Adobe InDesign

Exceptional customer service ability as well as excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication

Thrives in a fast paced, changing environment

Strong organizational capacity and ability to focus on tasks with ongoing interruptions

Ability to work unsupervised or within a team environment; This position is a main point of contact for the volunteers in absence of the Western Hospitality Manager and Coordinator

Problem solving abilities and an innate ability to think on your feet

Experience working with volunteers is considered an asset

High energy, positive attitude and friendly demeanor

May be required to work some evenings and weekends

Knowledge of and familiarity with the airport environment would be considered an asset
