The Calgary Airport Authority is leading an exciting expansion program at YYC worth over two billion dollars. With the recent opening of Canada’s longest runway and the construction of a new international terminal, this is an exciting time to be a part of the YYC Crew.

The Role - TERM (August 2015 – December 31 2016)

Are you interested in being part of the amazing team that is responsible for developing all of the communication pieces for the largest construction project in Calgary International Airport’s history?  We are looking for a skilled Communication Specialist to work within our Corporate Communications & Marketing team with a focus on YYC’s new international terminal expansion.
Reporting to the Manager, Corporate Communications some of the key responsibilities for this role are:
Liaising with project teams to gain understanding of project milestones and communication requirements
Translating the project requirements into communication strategies and tactics that inform and excite a wide stakeholder base including: Airport partners, tenants, YYC employees and the travelling public
Identify, coordinate and execute tactical pieces that will bring your plan to life for internal and external audiences. This will include:
Writing, editing and updating content for a wide range of communication channels that reinforces the importance of the expansion to the success of Calgary and highlights our role as an economic driver for Alberta’s economy
Preparing informative quarterly project status updates for key stakeholder groups and  developing public information notices/announcement
Developing  content and articles for the YYC employee and Community e-newsletters that builds excitement and pride in being part of once in a life time project in Canada’s third busiest airport.
Developing and editing video content for YYC’s internal and social media channels
Organizing and executing plans for events that are related to construction milestones and the International Terminal opening
It goes without saying that as a member of the Corporate Communications and Marketing team, you will also work to ensure the tone and manner of all communication materials are consistent with and reinforce the Authority’s culture and brand.

Basic Requirements

You’ll be an experienced Communications Specialist with a solid track record of developing and implementing communications strategies and tactics
Your experience will be supported by a post-secondary education in Communications or related discipline
You’ll also have proven experience as a ‘trusted advisor’ to the business derived from your strong customer focus and ability to handle multiple priorities
You’re an innovative and creative thinker with a strong work ethic and ability to work effectively with a variety of people.
You’ll have excellent writing, editing and presentation skills including Familiarity with Canadian Press Style Guide
All of the above will be supported by your strong analytical and organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects
On top of all that you’ll be strongly computer literate and familiar with website content management systems, social media, video blogging and video editing software, as well as desktop publishing software.
If you have project management experience that would also be considered an asset
