Coordinator, Charter Sales & Product Development
First Air - Kanata, ON
Duties and Responsibilities Interested candidates should be able to perform the following duties and responsibilities:
  • Provides support to the Senior Manager, Sales & Product Development in the areas including, but not limited to: inflight product, commissary/catering, ancillary sales, charter contracts/sales and charter coordination/logistics
  • Coordinates day-to-day commissary, catering and inflight sales requirements for all stations through accurate ordering, inventory, control and distribution
  • Assists with sourcing and coordinating suppliers related to commissary, catering and charter services
  • Prepares commissary and buy on board orders with major vendors and reviews invoices
  • Conducts detailed analysis and reporting for inventory, utilization and sales for commissary, catering and inflight products
  • Prepares analysis and support for price and contract negotiations with caterers and other suppliers
  • Coordinates food and beverage services for scheduled/charter flights and airlines operating on behalf of First Air
  • Reviews inflight line reports to investigate, provide solutions and respond to observations made by flight and/or cabin crew
  • Develops charter proposals, drafts contracts, prepares advisory sheets, sources/arranges logistical and ground handling services
  • Assists with the organization of charter flight logistics (e.g. aircraft/crew availability, refueling requirements, ground handling, permits, licenses, contingency planning, etc) and effective communication and coordination with other departments and outside agencies to meet customer needs
  • Builds and maintains charter data base
  • Assists in the organization and represents First Air at trade shows, marketing initiates and community events
  • Other duties as assigned
Skills and Qualifications Include, but not limited to, the following minimum skills and qualifications:
  • Minimum of 2 year post secondary education
  • 2-3 years related experience in related field (inventory management, food services, business, administration)
  • Relevant airline experience considered an asset (e.g. passenger/ramp handling, catering, charter operations, etc)
  • Must be fully proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word Power Point)
  • Previous experience with inventory distribution and control
  • Operational knowledge/understanding of cargo load control, aircraft limitations and ground handling services would be an asset
  • Adept at managing multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast paced, team-oriented environment with strong time management skills
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills for internal/external customers and contacts
  • Exceptional organizational, problem solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and display a high level of initiative, creativity and enthusiasm
  • Previous event planning experience an asset
  • Must be able to work irregular hours to meet demands of charter operations including weekends, holidays and on call, as required
  • Bilingualism (English/French/Inuktitut) considered an asset
  • Ability to obtain and retain a Restricted Area Identity Card in accordance with the Airport Restricted Area Access Clearance Program regulated by Transport Canada
