The Airport Operations Associate Certificate Program's purpose is to provide people already employed in aviation in Canada and around the world with the opportunity to upgrade their skills. It will also be of interest to people who are not currently employed at an airport - but are considering a career in airport operations.
This certificate program is made up of nine courses totaling 24 credits focused on industry standards and regulations related to airport operations including: airport and airline security systems, airport master planning, aviation safety and risk management, emergency preparedness, human factors, safety management systems and technical writing. Most of these courses are available through distance learning, which means they are flexible enough to fit into a busy spring schedule! Two courses are offered this spring:
AIRC 1004: Introduction to Airport and Airside Operations, from May 07 to July 16, and
AIRC 1008: Introduction to Safety Management Systems, from April 09 - June 11
