Job Summary
The Zone Deicing Coordinator is responsible for all the deicing operations within assigned deicing bays of the Central Deicing Facility.
Job Responsibilities
- Responsible for the management of aircraft, vehicles and personnel in the bay, using established visual/voice communications procedures and making decisions regarding the procedures of the deicing operation
- Control of assigned vehicle resources in deicing bays
- Monitor all authorized resources within the confines of a deicing bay
- Promote of safe, efficient and professional communication lines between all parties
- Control of movement within the confines of a deicing bay
- Opening and closure of an assigned deicing bay
- Ensure the safe and efficient control of deicing bay operations
- Oversees that the quality of the deicing process with the confines of a deicing bay is followed
- Promote the efficient contamination removal and fluid application
- Performs related duties as assigned as per the job classification
Qualifications and Competencies
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Possess a valid driver’s license
- Be able to pass security clearance (criminal background check)
- Valid RROC-Aeronautical Certificate, an asset.
- Obtain and maintain a CDF airport security ID and AVOP AVOP ‘D/A’ designation.
- Obtain and maintain a valid radio license (Industry Canada RROC).
- Good knowledge of deicing procedures, an asset
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office and ability with computers
- Demonstrate excellent leadership skills
- Excellent ability to work and “multi-task” in pressure situations
- Have a reliable form of transportation
- Flexible to work various shifts (days, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays)
