Pacific Coastal Airlines is looking for a permanent full time Flight Attendant . This position is based out of the South Terminal building at the Vancouver International Airport in Richmond.

Pacific Coastal Flight Attendants are the ambassadors of the company. They are responsible for providing an outstanding service to our customers and ensure their safety, security and comfort at all times. They must embody the Pacific Coastal motto " People Friendly, People First " and role model behaviors that respect the corporate values, professionalism, diversity and service excellence.

The ideal candidate for this position possesses excellent customer service skills. He or she is a real team player who is passionate about people and driven to delight every customer and put their interests first.

Job Description
  • Attend preflight briefings on details of the flight
  • Ensure the safety, security and comfort of all passengers at all times
  • Ensure all safety equipment is checked prior to departure and monitored during the flight
  • Greet passengers in a friendly and professional manner and thank them for their business.
  • Escort passengers as they board the aircraft and direct them to their seats
  • Explain safety procedures, demonstrate the use of emergency equipment, direct passengers in case of emergency
  • Make flight and other announcements
  • Attend to safety of passengers during take-offs, landings and emergencies
  • Ensure all passengers have seatbelts fastened and all safety requirements are met
  • Serve beverages and snacks, ensure that all necessary supplies are on board
  • Answer questions about the flight, attend to passengers' needs, particularly those with special needs
  • Reassure passengers during flight, especially during turbulence
  • Administer first aid to passengers or coordinate first aid efforts, when needed
  • Submit reports on the cabin condition, as well as on any medical problems that may have occurred during the flight
  • Operate safety and emergency equipment such as fire extinguishers, galley equipment, communication and lighting equipment, oxygen systems and aircraft doors
  • Follow and enforce standard operating procedures to ensure compliance with Pacific Coastal Airlines and regulatory requirements
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
  • Previous customer service experience
  • Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds
  • Travel away from home including overnight stays
  • Must be flexible to work any shift that is assigned
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain an Restricted Area Identity Card
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
  • Excellent communication skills, strong leadership abilities, tact, diplomacy and friendliness
  • Ability to actively listen, empathize, ask questions, and respond in language that clients understand
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and act decisively when dealing with stressful situations
  • Carry oneself in a professional manner
  • Work well unsupervised
