Lynne Foster, Instructor
Aerospace & Technology Campus, British Columbia Institute of Technology

Lynne began her career in 1969 with Pacific Western Airlines in the Edmonton Reservations office.  In 1973, she transferred to the Vancouver Reservations office where she was instrumental in the implementation of the first computerized reservations system for a regional air carrier in North America.  Lynne found her niche when she joined the Training Department in 1974 and she has been an adult educator ever since.

Over the years, as the airline evolved from Pacific Western to Canadian Airlines, to Air Canada, she trained employees in every position, from the CEO to the Pilots to the Aircraft Groomers.  She has developed, delivered and facilitated a broad variety of training initiatives and programs such as frontline leadership, customer service, management practices, interpersonal skills, human factors and corporate change.

On her retirement from Air Canada in 2000, Lynne began her second career in aviation academia by joining the BCIT's Aerospace Technology Campus.  She was instrumental in the launch of the new Aviation Operations Diploma Programs in her role as Chief Instructor.  After seven years, Lynne chose to return to the classroom where she continued to share her passion, expertise and network with students in the Aviation Operations Programs.

Lynne has received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the BC Aviation Council, and in 2015 was nominated by her students for BCIT's Teaching Excellence Award.
