**24 month term position with the potential to become permanent** Discover NAV CANADA. We’re a private sector, non-share capital corporation, financed through publicly-traded debt, and we own and operate Canada’s civil air navigation service (ANS). We provide our customers – airlines and other owners and operators of aircraft – with the following services: air traffic control, flight information, weather briefings, airport advisory services, aeronautical information services and electronic aids to navigation. Accountabilities Under the direction of the Manager, Business Services & Shift Optimization, the Scheduling Specialist is the focal point for preparing, adapting, establishing and implementing operational personnel shift schedules in a complex scheduling environment. Education Successful completion of secondary school or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience. Experience • Experience in high volume staff scheduling. • Experience in providing administrative or operations support. • Experience in the use of office computer software applications and data manipulation and reporting tools such as Word and Excel. The following experience factors will be considered an asset: • Experience in the interpretation of collective agreements. • Experience with pay and leave systems. • Instructional experience. • Supervisory experience. Abilities • Ability to work under pressure of changing and multiple priorities and short time frames, with limited direction/guidance. • Ability to communicate effectively orally. • Ability to plan and organize work schedules.
