Reporting to the Director, Passenger Services, this position is responsible for the development of the look and feel of the terminals as well as general ambiance programs that define the overall terminal experience. Specifically, the development of the passenger environment in support of Toronto Pearson becoming the Best Airport in the World. The incumbent will demonstrate a passion for passengers by ensuring that all elements of terminal interior design as well as the design and delivery of programs that contribute to the overall ambiance of the terminals is consistent with our brand image, consistent with defined standards and representative of a world class airport.

Job Description
Key Accountabilities: 
  • Develops passenger services programs for implementation based on priorities (may include programs such as smoking areas, pet relief areas, play areas, therapy dogs, etc)
  • Relationship Manager for Essentials Partners (i.e. Chapel) and is responsible for developing and managing new and continuing relationships with partners
  • Participates in the development of third party/sponsored activities such as Pan Am Games
  • Develops and manages of the Arts and Culture program
  • Manages and develops ambiance programs such as comfort seating, charging stations, and other amenities
  • Works with the partnerships team to ensure that programming aligns with goals and objectives
  • Develops co-branded activations with Partners and Partnership team as required
  • Identifies new assets for partnership opportunities which includes the design and successful implementation of proof-of-concept, pilot or prototype programs
  • Develops and manages the greenery (internal and external) components of the Aesthetics program
  • Defines the program and plans for experiential elements such as Holiday Decorating
  • Develops and implements standardized Aesthetics Plans for terminals
  • Responsible for the translation of the brand into Terminal Aesthetics including seating, carpet, lighting, washroom design, greenery
  • Manages airport brand aesthetic-standards in terminals, with the support of the airport architect and external designers;
  • Defines the terminal accessibility program requirements
  • Develops programs and plans to ensure that passenger spaces are accessible for all passengers
  • Manages and implements Accessibility programs (Universal Design principles) in the terminals
  • Develops, manages and implements messaging and communications for operations teams in the department
  • Supports development and delivery of passenger-facing communications
  • Leverages measurement tools to provide progress reports and insights while continually finding ways to improve on metrics and through testing and new initiatives
  • Management of goals, KPI’s and analyzes the performance of campaigns and program to drive and improve programs
  • Management and administration of the program budget
  • Responsible for being a customer centric Leader with respect to the Mission, Vision, Values and Beliefs

Job Requirements
Qualifications: 
  • Must have a post-secondary degree or diploma in interior design, industrial design, architectural services, business or related field
  • Minimum 5 - 7 years of experience in program and/or product design
  • Minimum 3 - 5 years of experience in People Management (direct report or cross-functional)
  • Demonstrated experience working in a customer centric environment
  • Must be able to obtain and retain a Transportation Security Clearance 
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 
  • Ability to lead projects from conception to planning and implementation to measuring outcomes
  • Ability to Capable of leading innovative work and flawlessly executing with a focus on delivering the end product
  • Able to efficiently and effectively managing all dimensions of planning for projects
  • Strong business acumen, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience with program and/or product design
  • Proven professional experience maintaining and supporting brand aesthetics through the design process and implementation.
  • Developing and implementing design standards based on industry best practices
  • Professional reputation for successfully leading the development and production of scopes of work, tender documents and contracts for furniture and fixtures orders including finishes plans, details and product specifications
  • Skilled at building effective relationships based on trust at all organizational levels both internal and external
  • Professional experience leading cross-functional teams in a highly collaborative environment
  • Able to facilitate and enable collaboration and stakeholder participation in projects
  • Professional reputation for demonstrating an endless curiosity and the drive to understand things and make them better; continuous improvement as part of their DNA
