People and Culture Coordinator

Function: Reporting to the Manager, People and Culture, the People and Culture Coordinator will be responsible for assisting with day-to-day People and Culture related activities, such as recruitment, onboarding, providing support to team members, participating in projects, assisting with the maintenance of reports and information and other projects as directed. Your sound knowledge of HR concepts will ensure that we continue to effectively deliver exceptional service to our clients.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Responsible for offer letter creation, change forms, and internal transfer paperwork
- Supports the talent acquisition team as required, including posting roles, scheduling medical exams and preparing new hire packages
- Coordinates onboarding for new team members
- Leads team member orientation, ensuring training is completed for all new hires
- Administers select People and Culture programs
- Generates ad hoc HRIS reports
- Assists with payroll and benefit administration
- Maintains People and Culture electronic filing systems; ensuring accuracy and completeness of confidential personnel files and team member records
- Coordinates and processes resignations
- Provides a high level of customer service responding to daily inquiries relating to company policies, programs and procedures
- Monitors the People and Culture mailbox and responds to all inquiries in a timely manner
- Updates team member information tracking and reporting for select client groups
- Actively participates in Porter’s Safety Management System (SMS) including reporting hazards and incidents encountered in daily operations; understand, comply and promote the Company Safety Policy
- Other duties as assigned

Education, Skills & Experience:
- Degree/Certificate in Human Resources Management or equivalent education
- Working toward a CHRP designation would be ideal
- Minimum 1-2 years’ experience in Human Resources
- Excellent written and oral communication and strong interpersonal skills
- Outstanding attention to detail with a high level of accuracy
- Ability to maintain a high degree of discretion, diplomacy and confidentiality
- Strong Microsoft Office computer skills
- HRIS/Payroll experience is a definite asset
