Transwest Air is currently looking for a full-time Director of Flight Operations to join its team in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan . Director of Flight Operations Saskatoon, SK Full Time As the Director of Flight Operations, you will you will report directly to the Chief Operating Officer and provide overall direction to the company flight operations department for the safe and efficient operation of all fixed-wing and rotary-wing company aircraft. You will be responsible for managing, directing, and evaluating all matters pertaining to flight operations including all operational programs and regulatory compliance. With your experience in leadership, direction and effective communication, you will foster a teamwork environment: ensure optimal information flow with all flight operational staff, and assist in team building initiatives. You must be able to meet the requirements of the "Operations Manager" position in CASS 725.07(2)(a)(1) of the Canadian Aviation Regulations and be approved by Transport Canada. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Providing direction to the Chief Pilots and Flight Attendant Manager ensuring all flight crews is familiar and aware of regulations and procedures pertaining to their duties. Ensuring compliance to applicable legislation and serve as liaison between regulatory bodies. As a senior leadership member of our team you will be responsible for providing guidance, mentoring, and support in management duties, such as; recruiting staff, performance reviews, corrective action, etc. Responsible for preparation and management of flight operations annual budget. Assessing and determining the need for new equipment and provide general direction regarding equipment requirements. Requirements: Experience in regulations and safety management systems so as to effectively guide safe operations while focusing on continuous improvement. Must be able to demonstrate knowledge to the Minister with respect to the content of the operations manual, the air operator's certificate and operations specifications, the provision of the regulations and standards necessary to carry out the duties and responsibilities to ensure safety. At least one of the following: Minimum three years' supervisory experience with a commercial operator of similar size and scope; or Has held the appropriate licence and ratings for which a pilot-in-command is required to hold for one of our aircraft types.
