The Manager Ground Operations Safety and Quality is responsible for the quality of the service and analysis of the safety of airport operations events.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure ground operations are performed safely with respect to all policies and procedures;
  • Reviews and analyzes ground operations safety and security incidents with the appropriate Regional Directors. Identifies root cause and determines the necessary corrective and preventative measures. Ensures implementation of corrective measures;
  • Ensures safety and security incidents and their corrective measures are communicated to Senior Management and the Safety, Quality and Security department;
  • Assists with the distribution of policies and procedures using the Air Transat Ground Services Extranet;
  • Responsible for producing Ground performance reviews and for publishing KPIs reports;
  • Jointly manages compliance and implementation of IOSA GRH section;
  • Monitor and participate to the Ground Audit Program. Ensure its compliance and collaborate with the Corporate Quality Assurance team. Conducts station ground audits as required;
  • Responsible to conduct Ground services risk assessment to support the operation, including station start-ups and ACMI contracts;
  • Coordinator of Dangerous Goods Ground program;
  • Responsible for Air Transat’s ULD control;
  • Represents Air Transat at industry groups and associations as required (IATA ASG).
Requirements
  • At least 5 years experience related to airport activities;
  • Background in safety and quality, auditing and SMS activities;
  • Thorough knowledge of all facets of de-icing, weight and balance, ramp operations and baggage handling;
  • Demonstrated ability to lead process improvement initiatives and teams;
  • Strong computer skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Weight and Balance systems, ; knowledge of baggage scanning and sortation systems, DCS, an asset
  • Customer service orientation is essential;
  • Strong communications skills, both written and verbal in English (essential); good working knowledge of French a strong asset.
