The Manager Aircraft Services Procedures and Training is responsible for policies and procedures relating to the ramp services and training.


Responsibilities
  • Is responsible for the development and management of Ramp Service, weight & balance, Load Control, Aircraft Grooming procedures for Air Transat;
  • Oversees the application of policies and procedures relating to ground handling and is responsible for ground standards and their implementation;
  • Responsible for the Air Transat Ramp Services Manual and related Ground Services information bulletins (including: instructions regarding baggage, cargo and mail handling, aircraft handling and loading, load control, de-icing and dangerous goods);
  • Develops edits and controls Ground Handling manuals ensuring compliance with all operational, safety and government regulations as they pertain to Ground Handling Operations;
  • Oversight and liaison for Central Load Control which provides Load Planning to Air Transat stations;
  • Responsible for the development, facilitation and support of Ground Handling training;
  • Responsible of aircraft fleet management pertaining to Ground services;
  • Represents Air Transat at industry groups and associations as required (IATA IGOM);
  • Jointly manages the IOSA GRH section;
  • Jointly conducts station assessment for new operations.
Requirements
  • At least 5 years’ experience related to airport activities;
  • Thorough knowledge of all facets of de-icing, weight and balance, ramp operations and baggage handling;
  • Demonstrated ability to lead process improvement initiatives and teams;
  • Strong computer skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Weight and Balance systems, knowledge of baggage scanning and sortation systems, DCS, an asset;
  • Customer service orientation is essential;
  • Strong communications skills, both written and verbal in English (essential); good working knowledge of French a strong asset.
