Reports To: Operations Manager - Yellowknife Posting: Internal/External Competition No: 136-AP2017
Responsibilities:
Actively participate in the Company’s Safety Management System (SMS) program and demonstrate knowledge of employee responsibilities regarding safety. In conjunction and cooperation with the other Operations Supervisor, Yellowknife, provide leadership and direction to the local Ramp and Cargo operations, ensuring a focus is on the highest levels of safety, customer service and on-time performance. Hold regular Toolbox meetings to review policies, procedures, training requirements, communications and encourage the Stop, Think, Act philosophy. Support daily operations by monitoring all aircraft servicing activities and providing direction to Ramp personnel. Supervise and coordinate the activities of ramp staff in the loading, unloading, securing and staging of cargo and baggage. Work a set schedule that between the two Operations Supervisor positions provides 7 day a week oversight at the Ramp and Cargo operations as required. Adhere to and monitor Ramp and Cargo service standards and procedures. Ensure a clean, safe, unobstructed work area is maintained and continuously practice proper safety protocols. Liaising with the Operations Manager on a daily basis to meet and maintain internal & external service standards. Assist with Charter operations as required. Ensure all staff have the knowledge, attitude and skills necessary for success. Other duties as required. Qualifications: Minimum one year of operational experience in an airport ramp and/or cargo environment Previous experience in a supervisor or managerial role is considered an asset Demonstrate high degree of emotional maturity and ability to operate under stressful situations Ability to work flexible hours Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills Excellent planning, time management and organizational skills Ability to work in a team environment Demonstrated ability to adapt to a changing environment Knowledge of WHIMIS and Dangerous Goods Transportation guidelines and procedures considered an asset
