Airport Technician 3 (APT3)

North Peace Regional Airport an opening for the position Airport
Technician 3 (APT3). Reporting to the Supervisor, Airport Operations, the
successful candidate will become part of the airport maintenance/electrical and
Aircraft Rescue Firefighting Emergency Response team, working on a rotational
shift basis to cover the airport’s 24/7 operation. The rate of pay is $36.40/hour.
This role is responsible for

Providing electrical servicing on
facilities and equipment through scheduled inspections and as needed to ensure
full functioning of airport services and facilities
·
Performing maintenance functions
on facilities and equipment through scheduled inspections and as needed to
ensure availability of airport services and facilities
·
Successfully completing a course
of training to obtain and maintain compliance with CARS 303 and 323 for ARFF
Services
·
Participating fully in the
emergency response program for the airport as an active team member
·
Operating various pieces of mobile
equipment, including heavy machinery
·
Consistently
complying with workplace health and safety practices
Qualifications Required
·
Minimum 5 year’s work experience
in an airport operating, facilities maintenance or industrial environment
·
Red Seal Electrical ticket,
required; experience in airport electrical operations a strong asset
·
A valid Class 3 driver’s permit
with airbrake endorsement
·
Knowledge of and experience with
emergency response procedures
·
Knowledge and experience with
facilities and equipment preventative maintenance practices and procedures
·
Knowledge of summer/winter pavement
and turf maintenance practices
·
Fulfillment of all medical,
physical ability, cognitive skill and other requirements of the APT3 position
·
A restricted radio operator’s
license and airside vehicle operator’s permit
·
Secondary school certificate or equivalent
·
Effective verbal and written
communication skills
·
A PAL (possession &
acquisitions licence) and CORE (conservation outdoor recreation education), or
ability to obtain same
