Station Manager – Saskatoon - YXE Department: Operations Location: Saskatoon John G. Diefenbaker International Airport Reports To: VP Canada Ground & Cargo Handling Status: Exempt Summary: The Station Manager is responsible for all station operations, ensuring that the delivery of services are consistent, professional, safe and secure. The role requires a seasoned senior manager with a strong operational and business understanding and leadership skills. The incumbent must have the ability to run a business in a challenging environment, whilst maintaining strict Menzies Corporate Governance and Financial guidelines. Primary Accountabilities and Duties: Fully responsible for all aspects of the station operations. Services offered at the station include Passenger & Ramp Handling and GSE Maintenance Fully accountable for the financial performance and compliance with Corporate Governance, legal and quality aspects of the ASIG businesses in the station Leading and working with the senior team to maintain and enhance appropriate, effective safety & security systems, risk assessments, periodical inspections & audits, operational training programs, planning, operational processes and service delivery. Planning resource allocation in the business unit. Regularly interacts with customers to promote the station and to measure the level of customer satisfaction. Uses customer feedback to constantly develop and improve capabilities and processes Implementation of the company policies and procedures, promoting sound safety, security and people management practice. Responsible for ensuring compliance with all airport policies including but not limited to Public Safety, Security, SeMS, IMS practices, environmental policies, Workplace Health & Safety and all other governances through Transport Canada Promoting and driving a ‘safety first’ culture through all levels of the organisation. Ensure the business unit remains fully compliant with internal standards and all relevant industry, regulatory and federal and provincial legislated requirements. Lead and motivate hard working teams to deliver excellent quality and productivity Directing and motivating Managers to achieve agreed targets. Producing routine reports Other duties as assigned Essential Skills and Qualifications: Degree or postgraduate qualification 5 to 7 years management experience in the Airport Ground Handling business Excellent leadership and people management skills, demonstrated ability to influence, collaborate and negotiate cross functionally in a unionized environment, as well as with internal and external stakeholders. Experience in operational planning and resource allocation Working knowledge of GSE maintenance issues Wide ranging general management experience, with some years of senior management experience Extensive management and/or support service experience, preferably in a ground handling, aviation or logistics environment Strong communication and interpersonal skills, balanced with a high level of confidence to influence and present at all levels. Interpersonal skills: Independence, decisiveness and the ability to work accurately and independent of immediate support. Able to influence, engage and motivate at all levels Flexible, determined to succeed and self-motivated All applicants must hold requisite employment authority to work in Canada as well as obtaining and holding all required security clearances.
