Typical Duties:
Reporting to the President & CEO, the Manager of Airport Development has overall responsibility to lead the organization in strategic, master, capital and process planning through a dynamic period of growth.  As a member of the Management Team, the Manager works closely with all team members in planning the short and long term direction and guiding the strategic planning to successfully achieve corporate targets.  This position has full responsibility for project management leadership and oversight to both internal and external contracted project teams.  Capital and asset investment planning including the planning and execution of strategic initiatives is required to deliver projects in accordance with defined performance targets and best practice policies.  Key community relationships must be developed and nurtured to identify partnering opportunities for key infrastructure and airport expansion opportunities.
The Manager of Airport Development will evolve and implement project implementation disciplines that build organizational capability to fulfill our mandate effectively and efficiently.  A visible leader and contributor with a focus on operating in a safe, secure and efficient manner, the Manager will bring a positive, innovative and results-driven approach to project delivery and continuous improvement.

Education and Professional Experience:
  • Post-secondary graduate of engineering or related education program and/or designation in engineering.
  • Project Management Professional designation preferred but not essential.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial construction, engineering, or industrial services.
  • Knowledge of technical standards, publications and regulations pertaining to airport, aviation and related agency operations is beneficial.
Requirements:
  • Outstanding communication (oral & written), organizational and interpersonal skills to professionally manage multiple tasks in a customer centric environment.
  • General knowledge of and aptitude for relevant government legislation and policies.
  • Ability to grow and maintain positive relationships with airport community, partners and stakeholders in a customer centric and professional manner.
  • Ability to proactively identify innovative improvements to airport processes and systems.
  • Ability to manage conflicts, solve problems and action critical corporate decisions.
  • Ability to motivate and lead a team through the creation of an open environment where cooperative relationships are encouraged and diverse opinions are respected.
  • Experience working with a unionized workforce and negotiating contracts.
  • Strong business and financial acumen leading to astute budgeting skills and business decisions.
  • Strong awareness and commitment to a healthy and safe workplace environment.
  • Fully computer literate including Microsoft Office, AutoCad and various software applications.

Candidates must have an ability to obtain:
  • Transportation Security Clearance.
  • An Airside Vehicle Operators Permit.
  • A valid Saskatchewan Class 5 Driver’s Licence.
  • A valid First Aid & CPR Certification.
