POSITION SUMMARY The Manager, HSE is responsible for organizational governance and compliance with Transport Canada and federal legislation along with ownership of the HSE system. The Manager of HSE is also responsible for ensuring the integrity of records and reporting key statistics and will work hand in hand with internal and external stakeholders to establish and promote the maintenance of a safe, accident-free, healthy and environmentally responsible work place. Competencies:  Working knowledge of airport safety management systems and safety management systems regulations.  Self-motivated with ability to work well under minimum supervision  Strong leadership skills  Demonstrated problem solving capabilities.  Knowledge of aviation and airport security measures.  Working knowledge of principles and practices of Airport and Airline Operations, and Airport emergency response.  Experience with preparing and managing budgets.  Ability to obtain and maintain an Airport Vehicle Operators Permit. Skills and Ability:  Develop and maintain positive working relationships with co-workers, tenants and stakeholders.  Communicate clearly and effectively in English, both orally and in writing.  Ability to anticipate possible problems and consequences of situations and take appropriate action to prepare for possible contingencies.  Interpret and apply health, safety and environmental concepts, regulations and policies.  Develop corporate health, safety and environmental goals and objectives.  Motivate and influence others to accomplish the health, safety and environmental objectives of the organization.  Work co-operatively within a diverse team to achieve the goals and objectives of the FMAA REQUIREMENTS:  Must reside in Fort McMurray  Minimum of 7 years of experience in a HSE position  Knowledge and understanding of relevant codes, standards, regulations and legislations  A valid class 5 driving license  Ability to obtain and maintain a Transportation Security Clearance (RAIC) Education:  Post-Secondary education in Health, Safety, Environment or related field(s).
