Flight Attendant ProgramThe program, offered through Canadian North Inc., is broken up into three segments and in order to proceed onto the next segment you must achieve a passing mark of 85% or above.
The three segments for the Flight Attendant Program are:
First Segment – CT-301 70/hour online course through Inflight Institute
Second Segment – Ground School – Initial Training
Third Segment – Simulator Training (training completed in Edmonton and Calgary, Alberta)
Qualifications:
Grade 12 or equivalent (University or College experience is a definite asset)
Clean criminal record
Preference will be given to candidates who have completed the CT301 course from the Inflight Institute
Minimum 18 years of age (required for the service of liquor)
Ability to meet aviation medical standard
Fluency in English
Fluency in Inuktitut and French is a definite asset
Strong interpersonal skills and direct customer service experience
Basic computer knowledge and experience is an asset
Willingness to relocate and work from the Edmonton base
Valid Canadian Passport and must be able to meet Transport Canada Security Clearance Regulations
Responsibilities:
Attend crew briefings
Conduct preflight checks of the aircraft and ensure that all safety equipment and catering are prepared for flight
Welcome passengers, check boarding passes, ensure that all carryon items are secured and that passengers have fastened their seatbelts
Execute preflight announcements, passenger briefings and safety demonstrations
Initiate service (meals, beverages, reading material)
Ensure passengers have a safe and comfortable flight by providing excellent customer service
Willing to work shift work, including early mornings, late nights and some overnight flying
Willing to work for up to 6 days at a time and for up to 14 hours per day with shift work on weekends and statutory holidays
Sensitivity to the unique environmental, cultural and business needs of diverse northern cultures and communities
Handle stressful situations in a calm efficient manner
Cabin preparation and grooming
Preflight and post flight paperwork
Other duties as assigned
