Role Profile:
The Manager, Operations Business Planning is responsible for managing the Operations Department’s planning and budgeting processes, financial reporting, assisting with capital project processes and for providing financial management and analytical services for the department. A key responsibility for the Manager will be building and maintaining strong working relationships with the three Directors in the Operations Department (Planning & Infrastructure, Business Solutions & Information Technology and Operations) along with their respective managers and supervisors to support the strategic priority of “Maximizing Airport Efficiencies” through innovation. The role will also be required to work closely with the Finance staff, especially the Financial Analyst – Revenue & Operations. This position will identify and resolve complex business challenges while ensuring project deliverables in accordance with regulatory requirements and organizational specifications and standards.


Knowledge/ Abilities/ Skills:
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration (Commerce) with specialization in Finance/Accounting, or a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, or an Industrial Engineering Degree
  • A minimum of three years’ experience working in efficiency improvement or continuous improvement programs
  • A minimum of three years’ experience working in business planning, budgeting and financial analysis
  • Experience in preparation analysis of large budgets and in making recommendations for change to senior management
  • Experience working in diverse operational environment
  • Supervision of personnel
  • Working with an integrated Financial System
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement and efficiency improvement processes and analysis.
  • Knowledge of the Business Plan process
  • Knowledge of Budget Formulation and Control
  • Knowledge and understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Financial Procedures would be an asset.
  • Demonstrated problem solving, analytical and planning abilities
  • Demonstrated ability to organize, analyze and quantify financial data
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare accurate financial reports
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively to a variety of audiences verbally and in writing
  • Demonstrated leadership ability and demonstrate initiative
  • Strong computer skills and extensive experience with MS Office
  • Demonstrated ability to meet tight deadlines and work well under pressure
  • Demonstrated ability to work as a member of a team
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively interact and maintain working relationships with internal departments
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential material and sensitive information discretely
  • Demonstrated ability to learn and apply new skills and knowledge
  • Demonstrated coordination and follow up skills
  • Demonstrated negotiation and persuading skills
