The St. John’s International Airport Authority (SJIAA) is a not-for-profit corporation committed to creating an exceptional airport experience at Newfoundland and Labrador’s premier gateway. The airport is the second largest in Atlantic Canada and currently serves more than 1.5 million passengers annually. We are seeking a decisive and dynamic individual to join our team of Airport Duty Managers. In this role, you will be the on-site representative of senior management on weekends, evenings and holidays, responsible for ensuring efficiency, safety, security and service quality in all aspects of our operations. You will communicate effectively with airport partners and the travelling public to ensure that information concerning airfield operational status is relayed on a timely basis. You will exercise sound judgment in determining responses required to operational and maintenance issues. You will respond to emergency situations, demonstrating your ability to initiate appropriate actions in accordance with established procedures. You are a graduate of a recognized program in aviation management or airport operations with a minimum of 5 years’ related experience or possess an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. With extensive knowledge of airport operations and legislation, you thrive in a team environment and build effective working relationships with internal and external contacts. You have strong organizational and decision-making skills and have proven your ability to use these skills in emergency situations. You are an excellent oral and written communicator, who strives for high levels of customer satisfaction.
