Alpha Aviation Inc. is looking for a proactive, customer-focused Airport Operations Supervisor to help guide the day to day operations at Boundary Bay Airport, one of the busiest airports in Canada.
Alpha Aviation takes pride in providing an exceptional experience to our clients each and every time they use our facility. The successful candidate would ensure customer service as a priority in all operations and will be responsible for building collaborative relationships throughout the airport. Reporting to the Airport General Manager, the ideal candidate would be passionate about aviation and managing the operations of Canada's premier aviation training airport.

Key Responsibilities Include:
  • Supervise a team of ~10 Airport Operations Specialists.
  • Continual development and implementation of the Airport Maintenance Plan.
  • Oversee the operation, training, and maintenance of the Fuel Concession.
  • Oversee the implementation of the Wildlife Management Plan.
  • Oversee the maintenance of all buildings and facilities owned by Alpha Aviation.
  • Hire, train, schedule, and manage the performance of Airport Operations Specialists.
  • Plan and delegate daily task assignments for Airport Operations Specialists.
  • Perform audits on business processes, regulatory compliance, and job quality.
  • On scene controller for airfield emergencies.
  • 24-hour Airport Duty Manager, on a rotating schedule.
  • Actively partake in the development of business procedures and policies.
  • Assist in the daily operation.
  • Implementation of all Canadian regulations - CAR, Worksafe BC, CSA, etc.
  • Selection and supervision of contracts and contractors.
The Airport Operations Supervisor ideally should possess the following:
  • A dedication to customer service.
  • Ability to mentor and actively teach.
  • Ability to think creatively and solve problems.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Class 5 (would prefer class 3) BC Driver’s License and clean driver’s abstract.
  • Supervisory and delegation skills.
  • Strong leadership and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability and interest to further their skill sets in airport operations.
  • Ability to identify tasks that need to be completed and see them through to completion.
  • Training in Airport Wildlife Management, including a firearms license.
  • Training in Airfield Lighting Maintenance.
  • Training in Emergency Management.
  • Working knowledge of Canadian Aviation regulations and CSA B836
  • Valid Pilot’s License or at least a thorough understanding of general aviation aircraft operations.
Work Environment:
  • Rotating 4 x 10 shifts, including the potential for weekend shifts
  • Working hours are 07:00 to 17:00

Alpha Aviation Inc. is working with the aviation industry to make Boundary Bay Airport (ZBB) the preferred location for both visiting and locally based corporate aircraft as well as Canada's premier aviation training airport.
