POSITION SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Operations Manager, SOC Shift Leads are responsible for the effective "Day of" oversight, supervision, direction, coordination and support of the Security Operations Centre (SOC) team at Calgary International Airport and for responding to and addressing any problems or issues experienced by SOC. The SOC operates 24 hours per day, 365 days per year. The Shift Lead is a "working lead" position and as such will be trained and qualified in all SOC positions, duties and responsibilities.
The SOC Lead is the primary day-to-day point of contact for the Calgary Airport Duty Manager and as such is responsible for coordinating "day of" SOC activities with the Airport Authority to review issues, challenges and changing requirements

PRIMARY DUTIES:
  • Serves as the focal point for communicating, coordinating activities and for managing, monitoring and resolving problems/challenges or issues as they occur in collaboration with Airport Authority representative(s) for a cohesive operation;
  • Oversight and supervision of assigned team's daily work plan, adjusting priorities and resource allocations to meet demand and/or accommodate enhanced security, emergency/IRROP event requirements, ensuring the team's adherence to established schedules, performance standards and protocols;
  • Assists in the provision of Emergency/IRROP response activities as required;
  • Ensures all established SOC procedures/protocols, directions and instructions are up-to-date;
  • Performs daily performance/quality control inspections and provides daily direction, communication, guidance and support to on duty SOC Operators and addresses performance management or disciplinary issues;
  • Investigates all problems, complaints, incidents, events and deficiencies and submits formal reports of all findings and recommended corrective action;
  • Prepares Daily/Weekly/Monthly SOC Operational Statistical/Performance Reports, Shift Inspection/Summary Reports, Incident/Occurrence Reports;
  • Conducts OJT Training/Testing initial and on-going random in-the-field training;
  • Ensures all systems, tools/equipment and supplies needed by the SOC team are available and in good working condition;
  • Ensures client confidentiality - safeguards and maintains sensitive and confidential information and strictly enforces data protection and data protection policies
  • Performs other duties and tasks as assigned by the company and/or client;
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Education and Experience
  • Successful completion of a minimum high school education or possess equivalent work-related experience, however preference may be given to candidates with Post Secondary education;
  • Minimum of two (2) years verifiable experience in an Operations Centre, Call Centre or SOC;
  • Experience in a Supervisory or Operational Lead role, preferably in an airport or Operations/Call Centre environment;
  • Working knowledge of security, audio video, and integrated computer systems.

Qualifications
All applicants for this position must be:
  • 21 years of age or older
  • A Canadian Citizen or Landed Immigrant
  • Have a clear Criminal Record
  • Licenced by the Province of Alberta as a registered Security Guard;
  • Must have a valid Province of Alberta Drivers licence with no restrictions and a clean driver abstract;
  • Able to obtain and maintain a valid Transportation Security Clearance and a Calgary Airport Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC);
  • Physically capable of performing all duties as set out in Job/Position Description
  • Able to work a rotating 24/7 shift schedule, including nights weekends and holidays;
  • Successful completion of (initial and annual recurrent) SOC Training is a pre-requisite for employment;

Recruitment Assets:
  • Airport security and/or operations experience is highly desirable;
  • Possession of a valid Transportation Security Clearance and an Airport RAIC (Restricted Access Identification Card) is a definite asset for this position;
  • Prior experience with Lenel Access Control System, Pelco CCTV System or other similar security software systems preferred;
