Overview of the Operations Support Manager (OSM) role:
Reporting to the Duty Manager, the Manager –Operations Support represents WestJet interests to the GTAA. The OSM works collaboratively with the Operations Team and the GTAA Operations Team to improve overall station performance relative to Safe, on time performance (OTP) and a positive guest experience.
Direct Accountabilities of the role:
- Protect WestJet Interests with the GTAA
- Improve station performance
- Improve Guest Satisfaction
- Promote collaborative working relationship with GTAA
Daily Responsibilities Include:
- WS Leader representative in the IOCC
- Monitor all aspects of GTAA operations directly related to WS operational performance (CDF throughput,/D-TMI/A-TIMI, Facility issues (baggage systems, CATSA screening systems, IT, PBBs etc) and communicate any challenges to the WS Operational Team
- Develop and maintain a consistent approach for aspects and activities needed to improve overall station performance
- Anticipate, identify, and resolve issues mitigating negative station performance/Guest experience with a results-oriented approach
- Identify strategic opportunities within the Airport community & facility that will enhance service and improve operational performance
- Support the WS AOC Team in ensuring optimized gating strategy
- Support day-of operational leadership teams by providing proactive and consistent communication
- Manage escalated concerns between WS operational teams & GTAA
- Create and disseminate operational alerts as required
- Participate in all applicable stakeholder briefings/conference calls
- WS Representative for all ECCs, EOCs, TRAs, etc.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years operational airport operations required
- Minimum 2 years airport operational leadership or equivalent required
- Outstanding communication and people skills
- Proven history of effecting change through influence
- Process Management skills with the ability to prioritize quickly and efficiently
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task and handle changing priorities under extreme pressure
- Proven track record in leading business operations
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications, SABRE, Flite Trac
