Reporting to the Manager, SOC and under the functional supervision of the Team Leader, SOC, the Operator, SOC is responsible for supporting front line screening operations, emergency management, claims, complaints and security liaison related work that emanates from CATSA’s role as screening authority at 89 designated airports. The incumbent’s responsibilities include:
Reporting to the Manager, SOC and under the functional supervision of the Team Leader, SOC, the Operator, SOC is responsible for supporting front line screening operations, emergency management, claims, complaints and security liaison related work that emanates from CATSA’s role as screening authority at 89 designated airports. The incumbent’s responsibilities include:
- Maintaining the Security Operations Centre (SOC) as a communication hub to monitor and report all incidents at CATSA designated airports;
- Supporting emergencies and incident management by receiving, documenting and report information to regional staff, stakeholders and screening providers;
- Receiving and making phone calls relating to all screening incidents
- Documenting incidents as well as potential claims or complaints
- Actioning video requests by isolating the relevant footage and safeguarding it
- Using SOC systems to provide real-time support to the frontlines in order to resolve a security breach or to return forgotten or lost items at the checkpoint
- Liaising with policing and security partners to assist in lawful investigations, and
- Responding to public inquiries during the hours that the 1-800-O-Canada service is not offered.
What you need to succeed
To qualify for the position, you must have:

- Successful completion of a high school or college diploma;
- A minimum of one (1) year of experience working in an operational environment or communications centre utilizing a central repository service, or as a dispatcher;
- Experience responding to emergency calls/situations;
- A minimum of two (2) years of experience in a client service role;
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office and comfortable using technology such as CCTV will be considered an asset.
- Bilingual (CBCC)
