Pacific Coastal Airlines is headquartered at the South Terminal of the Vancouver International Airport. As an established regional airline, we fly scheduled and charter service between busy international airports, remote destinations, and beautiful communities within the province of British Columbia. The launch of our new operations in Southern Alberta in 2018 has created an exciting environment of rapid growth. As a result, we have created a new role for a Recruiter within our Employee Services department. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced in-house recruiter to make their mark of a growing organization!

The Recruiter is a newly created position and this individual will be a key driver for the development and effectiveness of the company's recruitment program. This individual will collaborate with hiring managers and supervisors from all departments and locations to ensure an effective and efficient recruitment process. The biggest challenge for this individual will be recruiting for niche and technical positions in an industry that has significant staffing shortages. This individual will be viewed as a recruitment partner and will have the ability to work with hiring managers within all departments and levels of the company.

As a member of the Employee Services team, the successful candidate will be friendly, approachable and a natural networker. The ideal candidate is savvy with social media and has experience with employer branding strategies. He or she will continually strive to come up with new ideas to ensure effectiveness and efficiency. The successful candidate will keep up-to-date with recruitment-related trends to ensure that the Pacific Coastal is viewed in a positive light within the industry and external job market.

This position will require travel from time to time within BC and Alberta in order to participate in interviews, career fairs, and other related events outside of the Vancouver area. Often this travel may be completed within one day, however overnights may be required once every month or two.


The Recruiter has two key areas of responsibility:
1.       Achieving staffing objectives by recruiting and evaluating job candidates, advising and collaborating with hiring managers, and maintaining a solid candidate pipeline; and
2.       Developing and enhancing the company's employer brand through online sources, social media, career fairs, post-secondary schools, networking events, etc. in conjunction with the Manager, Employee Services and the Marketing department.
Duties:
Full cycle recruitment for all locations and departments including proactive sourcing, screening, interviewing, assessment, and offer presentation/negotiation.
Review and manage candidates, post jobs, and general maintenance of the Company's applicant tracking system.
Act as a recruitment partner to hiring managers by thoroughly understanding their open positions, teams, and recruitment needs.
Leverage various online recruiting resources, employee referrals, and networking strategies to build and maintain a pipeline of candidates.
Drive and maintain solid recruitment processes to ensure a positive candidate and employee experience.
Represent PCA at various job fairs and related networking events to support recruitment initiatives and develop the company's employer brand.
Provide ongoing feedback and recommendations on process improvements and strategies to enhance the candidate experience.
Work collaboratively with the Employee Services & Recruitment Coordinator to accept and track staff requisitions, develop job descriptions and job postings, generate offer letters, etc.
Collaborate with the Employee Services team, Training department, and hiring managers to ensure smooth onboarding process.
Provide regular reporting on all recruitment and hiring activities.
Other special recruitment and Employee Services-related projects as assigned by the Manager, Employee Services.
REQUIREMENTS
Education & Experience:
·         4+ years of full cycle recruitment experience in a fast-paced, dynamic environment recruiting for a variety of roles, from entry-level to management
·         Proven experience recruiting for specialized or technical positions,
·         Post-secondary education is business, human resources, marketing, or a related field is an asset.
·         Aviation industry experience is an asset.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
·         Ability to handle a typical volume of 10-25 staffing requests at a time, including difficult to fill positions,
·         Engaging and energetic communication style
·         Effective negotiation, influence, and communication skills
·         Ability to travel from time to time for interviews, job fairs, etc.
·         Excellent relationship building skills and proven ability to provide coaching and advisory capacity to all levels of management
·         Proficient with social media platforms (i.e. Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, etc) and Microsoft Office
·         Excellent at multi-tasking and managing competing priorities.
·         Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
·         Detailed-oriented.
·         Critical thinker with strong problem solving skills.
·         Highly ethical and able to deal with confidential issues with tact and discretion.
·         Ability to work effectively with a diverse customer group
