The Vancouver Airport Authority has a permanent, full-time opportunity for a Manager, Innovative Travel Solutions in the Innovative Travel Solutions (ITS) Department.  Reporting to the Director, Innovative Travel Solutions, the successful candidate will be responsible for leading and assisting in the development and deployment of innovation projects at the Airport Authority.



Key responsibilities include:

  • Working directly with teams and staff with innovative ideas; acting as the first point of contact to assist them in developing their ideas and providing mentorship and resources to facilitate the migration from idea to potential deployment
  • Working alongside Director to introduce programs, set strategies and be a change agent in the organization as it relates to innovation
  • Managing various project budgets and producing monthly reports to Senior Management
  • Developing external partnerships with leading organizations to share best practices on innovation and examine opportunities for pilot programs or cross-collaboration
  • Bring new ideas on evolving various innovation programs at the airport authority
  • Assisting with facilitation and providing administrative support for innovation teams including setting agendas, recording and tracking action items, and coordinating key milestones
  • Create strategies and plans for commercialization efforts of technology developed at the airport
  • Attend tradeshows, conferences and exhibits representing ITS and YVR
  • 3+ years of managerial experience of teams, processes and projects supplemented by a university degree, preferably a Bachelor of Commerce, or equivalent
  • Excellent public speaking and presentation skills
  • Highly developed critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Superior interpersonal and communication capabilities, with the ability to express thoughts in an organized manner and listen to the issues of others in a way that elicits cooperation and support
  • Strong organizational skills including managing a number of on-going projects and providing regular updates to both senior and executive leadership
  • Proven ability to work in a team environment including leading team meetings
  • Proficiency with the MS Office Suite
  • Demonstrated initiative, autonomy, adaptability and sound judgment
  • Ability to interact effectively with different levels and departments of an organization, both internally and externally
  • Able to produce high quality presentations, business cases and other deliverables, as required, to executive leadership and the Board of Directors
  • Creativity and flexibility with respect to problem solving
  • Some travel required 1-2 weeks a quarter
